Trouble with Broadband
4 Answers
Why does my AOL Broadband keep closing down every time the phone rings or I dial out on another extension? We have four phones in the house, and two filters, Broadband is connected to one filter but not the main socket. The other filter is connected to the main socket. AOL is no help whatsoever. BT have said there is no problem with the line. Should I get more filters for the other two phones, what do these filters do? Thanks !

AOL said that we had to put a "proper" phone in due to "interference" from the cordless digital ones. I bought a fax machine and connected them together. Have to say it cleared the problem. Not with AOL anymore. Lost my temper with them when we set up a wireless network and dared to use a router they didn't recommend!
Thanks evereyone, I have now spoken to a friend who deals in computers and he said to get a filter for each socket which I will try. Why are AOL so useless? They can't seem to answer your questions, just pass the buck. Is it worth changing to another provider, would I still be able to use my AOL email address, and would I still get problems? Thanks again !
