I too went to school with a Richard Head and EVERYBODY shorted his name,mind you the name suited him. He left the area and I later heard he'd changed his name by deedpole.
I have met the following names - Precious, Lovely, Shital, Jermy, Gift and quite a few others but a lovely chap with a great family whom I have lost touch with was delightfully named John Thomas Dick. If you are out there John do get in touch...been years.

I once taught James Bond, who was the image of the Milky Bar Kid. OH once had Gary Baldy and Christopher Lee in a class and an ex-pupil called her baby Kyumi, she'd heard the name on an advert for a deodorant.
A friend was starting a new child in her school, he was called Gooey according to his mother, when she came to write the name down it was Guy.
