Special Fx Makeup Starter Kit Should Include?

Hey

I am looking to put together a special effects makeup starter kit for my sister for her birthday this month.

She is very skilled and knowledgable regarding standard makeup, but yet to begin learning about special effects.

She has applied to join a film effects makeup course and that looks very exciting.

I have viewed the "Mehron All-Pro Special FX Makeup Kit" on Amazon and it looks good, but I'm worried as reviewers have mentioned the items are more like sample sizes. As she will eventually be using stuff five days a week, I imagine she will need larger products. For now she needs enough to create a large and varied portfolio of photography.

If I were to instead create my own kit for her, what items should be in it?

What should I buy a lot of and a little of?

I would love a list of items from experienced users! If you could also maybe rate each item (maybe out of 5? 1 = a little. 5 = a lot.) on how much she will need, that would be great!

This is a very specialized subject so you are not going to get lots of replies. I use a lot of cosmetics but know nothing of special effects make-up. Plus hardly anyone looks in the shopping category.
