Green Cone

My Green Cone kitchen waste disposal system, located in a sunny position in my garden does not appear to be working and rotting down the kitchen waste I put into it. I have used the accellerator powder supplied but the cone appears to be filling up instead of rotting the food down to a liquid. Am I doing something wrong or should it just be left to get on and do it's own thing??
