## My mum was paying 300 quid a week for home care, twice a day 1 hour in the morning and half and hour in the afternoon, this seems like a lot of money to me. ##

So she dosent get any assistance from the Gov, and probably has funds, but seems expensive to me.

I have 2 visits a day for 30 minutes each visit, 7 days a week, and I pay £80 a month to the County Council. The care company get paid about £18 an hour, (will finish later)

National minimum wage is 7.50 per hour, for age 25 and up. Bet you these women aren't getting more than that.

she was deemed to have some money, and because we had to get care into place quickly, she had to pay.
that may be different soon as we are going the social services route, which is a good deal cheaper.
She could still end up in a nursing home, it depends on the next week or so how she responds to hospital treatment.

it wont be any different emmie, if she has money she will have to be a self funder, no matter if it's facilitated by SS or not. Mst local councils do re-enablement for free to get people out of hospital.

TRT you can bet that your care costs more than you are paying - it's just social services are taking up the slack
