Has anyone had a one night stand they have desperately regretted? I've had one with my friend and wish i could take it back i'm beating myself up over it and now i never want to see him again. What are your experiences?

My son is now 8, which i dont regret but my mate has never spoke to me since and never wanted to see his son. That kinda hurts. Gotta move on though. worse things in life happen. Just put it down to experience.
i think it is kind of sad that you cannot get past this - it si just sex! it doesn't have to be embarassing or shameful - just accept that for one night you shared something and thats it.
presuming he is ok with it, i think you should just try to pick up where you left off - act like nothing has changed and in a few weeks it will start to feel that way.
it is 2007, we are allowed to have sex for fun and recreation, without stigma and it doesn't always have to be withing a loving couple
don't let this relatively minor thing (in the grand scheme of things) ruin something.

joko's right. What exactly is the problem, whoopy? I'm not being sarcastic, just wondering what it was that's changed your view of him. Was it because you let yourself go in a way you wouldn't normally do? (In which case it's not exactly his fault.) Or because he did something unusual? You can't change what's done, but rather than drop him, you should certainly tell him you regretted it (so he won't expect it to happen again) but otherwise try to go on as before. Of course things have changed, but things change all the time, you learn new things about friends every day; but the fact that they have sex shouldn't normally be a relationship-breaker.
I'm still matey with all my mates who I've had a bit a something, something with, not that its many but you know dares, drunkeness ect... can lead to a lot of embarassment for some but if your comfortable with who you are then it should be OK and you should just move on.

Yup I know where you are with this!!! Its hard to deal with sometimes, cos no matter how hard you try emotions get in the way of things. It would be easier if it could have just been a one night stand and then back to normal, but I don't know that everyone works that way. I had a one night stand with a friend of mine about a year ago, and I still find it difficult sometimes to be around him. It does take time and we did get past the initial awkwardness quite quickly. It depends what you want from it. I really care about my friend which makes the situation a little harder, but because of that I am willing to put the effort into being friends with him. If I was you I would work out if I want to be friends and then get on and be friends. If you don't want to be friends then don't be. At the end of the day though don't regret doing it - life is far to short for regrets. I hope things work out a bit better for you!!!
