How To Store Cashmere Cardigans

I have 4 cashmere cardigans which have been hung in a wardrobe for several years and they have developed misshapen lumps in the fabric where the coat hanger was inserted. Is there any way to remove the "bumps " ?

Probably best kept folded rather than hung. Would the bumps steam out somehow.

I love cashmere and never hang up.First,I would wash them,by hand,remove excess water by rolling in a towel.Pull into shape and dry flat,
To store,place tissue paper before folding and put where you wish to keep them.I keep mine in a box.

If you have to hang them up you could try padded coat hangers

Thanks to every one for your help. I have decided to hand wash them tomorrow, and try to "rub out" the bump and then dry them flat and hope for the best. I have found 4 padded coat hangers and will hang them inside out in the wardrobe once they are dry and reshaped ! Thanks again.
