For the past hour or so we've had two men sitting on the patio with one of those shallow terracotta dishes with wax and three wicks....you know the sort to keep buzzies away at night....
They've got a box of matches and are making wicks from the matches and pressing them into the melted wax to see how many they can get in the dish.....and set alight.....
There is now close to a bonfire on the patio and they are loving it.....easily amused, eh?.... :-)
I'll get the torch and look, Ark.......not sure what they're holding and don't want to get too close.....it's as if some sort of ritual is happening...... ;-)
Not my Peacock's bra, Anne....over my dead body!!!!
The best enjoyment, Ark...we've been chatting about the fascination of fire.......when I was a child we could spend all evening sitting around the turf fire just wondering at the shapes and forms the flames took....we saw faces and animals and by the end of the evening all our grannies and grandads who were long dead.....simple fun.....x
That's so true... many a time pondering it's wonders and seen things in flames (In a controlled environment Folk younger and elder :-) I do believe in the wild most animals are scared of the stuff... also primitive.
