poem for college assignment HELP!
9 Answers
when i walked into my classroom the other day there were mannequins everywhere and even hanging on bars on the ceiling. We had to create an A1 piece of art which showed a slice of what we saw and then add words to the piece, this could be a story, an atmosphere or maybe even a poem. i really liked the idea of a poem to set the atmosphere because it was quite strange walking into a room full of still pale mannequins. has anyone got any ideas of what I could write, and poems or quotes? and also how I could apply the text to my work, it has to be mixed media, i.e. not painted directly onto the work..? thanks! x

And there is so much by Nick Cave you might use that I don't even know where to begin... Check him out.

it's not someone elses answers it's lyrics and poems for inspiration. in the end I used lyrics from pink floyds breathe, comportably numb, a couple more of their songs, breathe me by sia lyrics and colourblind lyrics by counting crows. I wasn't particularly asking for 'answers', just inspiration to set a scene.
This is the first and only poem I wrote (whilst I try to think of something more appropriate for the mannequins...) you may be able to use it for something else if it doesn,t fit these requirements...
Do not stop to wonder what will be around the corner
Because time has no regard for the constant mourner
Take the present fully - see it how it really is
Do not try to understand it, because the truth will conquer this.
Yes, the truth stands out perfectly
Although silent and unkempt
For those who truly see it
Know that it is heaven sent.
Where is our childlike innocence
Whence before it shone?
Have we really covered it up so much
That it has all but gone?
Time and patience go together
Just like love and freedom do
But there is no hidden meaning
No long hard and cryptic clue.
It stands right in front of us
Perhaps too close for us to see
And so in the darkness we wander in
A blindness that's hard to free.
