With football clubs still failing to take this issue seriously, is it any wonder that the abuse happened in the first place ?

Yes, maybe. But that is what 'grooming' is all about, slowly turning the child's mind so they don't ask that question.

That is precisely the sort of attitude that allows this sort of abuse to flourish.
I'm not sure whether it's to do with money (and the potential loss of such) or the belief that 'blokes' don't put up with that sort of thing and if they do, welllll.....it doesn't really do any lasting damage, does it?
