e mailing documents

I tried to send my sister about 10 pages I had written using Microsoft Works (some with pictures inserted). She could not open the files as she doesn't have Works (unbeknown to me), but has got MS Word and MS Office. Is there a way of sending a document file that any PC would be able to read? I realise I could have copied and pasted to, say, Notepad, but this would not have copied the pictures.

With works it saves the files with a slightly different file extention.....if you change it from .xxx to save as .doc she should then be able to open it at her end....I hope this works as I had a similar problem sending excel files in the past.

OK, I'll try that sft. I'll let you know what happens.

... or save the document as RTF (Rich Text Format) and she'll *definitely* be able to open it.
