Narrow Wheelchair!
I live in an old cottage with lots of "Tardis-like" narrow corridors and equally narrow doorways....as I am now confined to a wheelchair I desperately need one that is narrow enough to use around the house BUT is easily folded up to pop in my car.
I have a small scooter but I have shoulder problems - and therefore really need an electric self driven wheelchair.....any suggestions folks?
Many thanks in anticipation!!

You really need to get a face to face assessment of your house and your needs. I would suggest two options. The first would be to get an assessment from an Occupational Therapist and how you do this will depend on what is available in your area. If you go to a clinic or specialist for your mobility problems, then you could ask there, or phone your GP surgery, or phone Social Services at your local Council and ask there.
The other option would be to find local wheelchair suppliers in google or yellow pages who will visit you at home and discuss your needs. They will be sellers, just like people who sell double glazing so you will need to be prepared for the possibility of “hard sell” but if you can cope with that, then it can be helpful. Have you got someone who can be with you when they visit? Its much easier when there are two of you.

However I did take on board your ideas and in fact have a little motorised wheelchair called a "Rascal" which is proving very handy and which speeds me around the

...needless to say I bought it myself on eBay but it is proving it's worth and I thank you again for your suggestion folks
