Waiting to embark on Sunday at Tenerife this Irish Family was in the queue, one of these idiots had been drinking & well over the odds, he was making a right K--b of himself, I was glad they were at the rear of the plane, on entering the cabin the main Stewardess had this idiot aside whilst other embarked, the next thing the Captain was chatting to the stewardess in front of this P---D up Idiot, should these people, no matter where they are from be banned flights?

Yes, it would appear from you have said that he shouldn't have been allowed out of the Terminal building, let alone onto the aircraft.

Perhaps instead of just chatting, the captain and stewardess were talking about whether to let the guy on the flight. I thought that anyone obviously drunk would be told to sober up and get on the next flight. I'm sure the fact that he's Irish had nothing to do with anything.

Yes they spoil for the rest of us. On a skiing holiday there was a bunch of drunks on the plane. They managed to upset everybody swearing even in front of the children on the flight, the flight crew did nothing despite complaints. Some of our party were ex RMs so we had a word with them. Strangely they shut up cowards to a man. When we got off the plane lo and behold the police were waiting for them. We didn't even see them on return flight.
These drunken louts should be barred from flying and given heavy fines.

They already are banned but few airlines enforce it.
Anyone obviously drunk is not allowed on an aircraft, health and safety as they may not be able to understand emergency instructions.
They should have been refused boarding and left to find and pay for a new ticket home.

Maybe he was the worst acting of the bunch. For sure the nationality doesn't change the situation.

The captain is responsible for the plane and thus in charge; probably fair enough he makes the subjective decision whether a particular individual is intoxicated sufficiently to be left behind, or not. Other passengers can complain to the airline if they disagree with the decision. I think the stewardess might have the relevant form. Might even get a compensatory gift as a good will gesture.

I can recall a flight back home from a Skiing trip in the early 80's. There was a Party made up of mostly boys from a East End Boxing Club. They were in high spirits but not rowdy at all.

However, there was a much smaller group in the back of the plane, who were getting very out of hand and the poor Stewardess was not making much progress with calming them down, until a small "delegation" from the Boxing Club went back and had a serious word with them.

All was suddenly OK, all the way back to Gatwick !
