I have had dogs for over 60 years and never had this happen, and I have been away for longer than 2 weeks. Also Dogs have no conception of time. That is why you get the same type of welcome if you have been out for hour as you get if you have been out of the house all day. Enjoy your holiday.
"Stick" don't have a guilt trip. If you are happy with who is caring for your dog, your dog will adapt. Our gulp was when the people who cared for our dog came to visit 12 months after. She went mental and made more fuss of them than she does when we come "home". Haha, they still tease us, and the work colleague who looked after her 8 years ago still gets bowled over when she visits. Have a good holiday.
