Despite the prison manual (or whatever its called nowadays) stating that a prisoner should be incarcerated near his or her home, it never worked out in reality. When I was in shrewsbury, I should have been moved to Stafford...nearer to my home of Stoke. I got shipped out to Liverpool...further away. I knew cons from Stoke who actually ended up in Dartmoor!!
Where you are actually initially held is not where you will eventually end up. (despite what the prison service would have you believe) Chinny could easily end up in an open nick, albeit far from home.

Nalit we must get together some time and swap stories about life 'inside' The guy that made me laugh ( though not to his face) was a bloke who was in for receiving. His story was that he had gone on holiday and when he got home someone had broken into his house and filled it with stolen TVs , jewellery , and electronic equipment!
A sort of burglary in reverse!

Nothing Id like more than to get together and swap a few 'jail tails'.
I'm an ex con and ur an ex prison worker and yet people that have never been in that environment seem to be the experts...
holiday camp, play stations, TV's etc.....
Life a doddle in prison :-)

^ Very few people, especially on here seem to realise how difficult the job of a prison officer is.
They are understaffed and overworked, I talked to one who had been forced to work 16 weeks 7 days a week without a day off.
Many people regard them as little better than the inmates they are responsible for.

is that the one nearish Boston Lincs ?
A lonely sign points up a lane over a windswept salt marsh
( quite near the Pilgrims setting off point)
and you expect to see Hulks in the mist with cannonfire and Magwitch eating a meat pie ? Cold and grey it is - all the time
