Dark Picture

I have a 7 year old Samsung plasma TV. Which seems to be getting darker and darker!

I am at present trying to watch the cricket but have had to increase the Brightness to 100 per cent to achieve a just watchable picture.

Can anyone advise we whether something is wrong with the settings or is the t.v. On the way out.

Any help will be appreciated.

Have you got anything similar to 'power save' or 'eco setting' on? This setting dims the screen to save energy.

Plasma TV's are no longer manufactured, so it's probably time to invest in the future i.e 4K or OLED. All the top brands produce them.
Sounds as if your Plasma TV is showing signs of failure.
