My strawberry are going well so far this early in the summer. We have had strawberrys every day for a week and a half, even beating the pick your own for ripeness. I've just come in from giving them and the beans and peas some coffee grounds and found the juiciest raspberry just sitting there waiting for me with a few of its half ripe friends.

This seems very early to me.

We are now at the stage where we have been eating strawberries for 6 weeks ( I planted some in the polytunnel this year, so have an extra early crop)... most of mine are now being bagged up and frozen in readiness to make jam !
I bought some British blackberries in the Co-op last week, but surely its far too early for them, and I can't see them being grown in a greenhouse !
Gosh! That is early. Our gooseberries are just out but we still have flowers on the strawberry patch.
For about the past ten years or so, the british rasberry season has been extended from approx 8 weeks, out to 16 to 18 weeks. It is all down to poly tunnels.
This in turn has meant that the British farmers have claimed a significant part of the market that has long been the domain of overseas growers, due to their more suitable weather...Bless them !
... we have been eating new potatoes for a month or so... planted them in the tunnel in February. It's definitely the way forward.
Perhaps those blackberries were grown in poly tunnels !
They were very tasty.

My favourite fruits are Loganberries, which are hardly ever seen the shops, although they are available via pick-your-own places.
