I cannot see why there would be a law about something a sthis. Wasn't there a quote about the law not comcerning itself with mere trifles (other desserts and main courses are available at Wetherspoons)

The law doesn't cover such arrangements, each company sorts them out for themselves.

Some establishments have a "no reservations" policy whilst others require them.

According to the website, it is the responsibility of individual pubs and restaurants to organise their reservations systems - there appears to be no company-wide mandate on the issue.

You will need to contact the individual pub's management to discuss their policy.

In the absence of any response (busy gal must be very busy) I can only think either (a) she has tried to reserve a table and been told she cannot or (b) arrived in a Wethers to find a load of tables reserved and she couldn't get a seat.

(c) Busy Gal reserved table(s) and seating at such an establishment, only to find that, upon arrival, there was no record of the booking and that she could not be accommodated. Perhaps, she now seeks possible redress?

As said there is no law on such a matter, it is down to each individual Landlord to make their own rules.
