what are the fashion trends for 2006? my friends daughter has to do this as a project in uni - said i'd help her out. Can someone tell me the colours thats in? and whats in fahion or whos setting the fashion - As I havent got a clue as I don't follow it - thanks

Nautical theme is defo in, navy/red and white with deck pumps and strong bold coloured courts.

Round toes are in for style and the 1940's look to go with the pencil skirt and tailored blouse, ankle straps and T bars too.

there is a beetnick revival, black and whites with a swinging 60s look

Wedges are defo in for sandals and these go with the safari or jungle styles of Karki combats and camouflage gear.

The Audrey Hepburn chic pump is in so lots of simple straight plain dresses in pastels or black.

i would have thought that if she has to do a module at uni, they would teach her the answers/how to find the answers.

White is the colour for this season. The essentioal item is said to be a pair of white jeans. HIgh heels are out & cute pumps are in (which is great for us clumsy people who fall over at the drop of a hat!) As dot says nautical is in. Check out www.ASOS.com there are some pages on there somewhere that detail what is hot on the high street.

Thanks Dot - I've still got lots of nautical clothes from last year - also wedge sandals & shoes - combat trousers & shorts. I won't have to buy much this summer then!

ive heard that platform shoes are definitely in - hope so , im only 4ft 10. (wish i'd have kept them from the first time round)

Strappy wedges are definately in. Stillotoes and high heels can look too dressy and not fashionable. Topshop wedge shoes look great with summer fashion.

Just a word of caution ASOS sells, mainly, things that celebs wear and as im sure you're aware they dont always get it right
