Should you visit Westport or Westport Quay you must eat at The Idle Wall....
The food in all the restaurants along the quay is wonderful but this place has the edge.....if you watched Portillo's railway journeys it's the place he ate in Westport......ask the waitress about his visit.....that's a story!...;-)
The gales and sideways rain meant it was a quiet night here.....but a couple did sit next to me so I could have indulged in my new hobby of eavesdropping....escept they spoke French.......oh bums....... :-(
However they needed help with the menu.......and my companion is fluent so before long we were getting along just fine......I'm kind of local which interested them and they live in Brussels....and I love Brussels....so that was good.....
Even better.....they love and holiday in Tavira....so do I....so much in common....we avoided the election and Brexit.....
Isn't it nice when you can start a really pleasant evening with complete strangers and feel you've made friends....... :-)
Oh and remember......The Idle Wall.....just fantastic.....x
If we're recommending eating places that Michael Portillo included in his programmes, I'm going to add this one to the list:

It's excellent!
Thanks, Chris.....I have to say I discovered The Idle Wall before Portillo......I noticed he ate at the table I usually have and I waited for him to say.......And of course, this is where the crazy Gness eats when she is here......but he didn't..... :-(
