There was a children's series set in Cornwall, where a lad met a boy ghost in a Misty graveyard, who beckoned him to a mine. In the end they found loads of diamonds in the mine where workers suddenly realised the mine was flooding. Can anyone remember what it was called?

That sounds very similar to Haunters of the Deep (1984)but that was a single film from the Children's Film and Television Foundation, rather than a series. Perhaps your memory is playing tricks with you after over three decades?
