I purchased this a few weeks ago because my Kindle Fire 7HD became defunct, but I am so disappointed with it. The background colour is so dull, a pale brown and the alternative wallpapers are also so dull, it gives me no pleasure at all in using it. Is this colour normal or have I got a faulty tablet?

Does anyone else have this problem?

I've just got a newly-released Fire 8HD with Alexa and the display is fine....have you tried increasing brightness in the display settings?

You haven't got the blueshade option on have you? That makes background dullish brown, otherwise is white

I have the highest brightness on but it is still pale brown.

Yes....I have "blueshade" enabled and it does make the screen "browner" but only after sunset.

Swipe down from top of screen for control panel and check Blue Shade is off (picture of bed - to cut down on glare from screen at night)

I switched off yesterday lunchtime with the screen still dull brown, after lunch I switch on again and, hey presto, the screen was a normal colour for the first time since I bought the tablet. I don't know how it happened, I didn't do anything different.
