Do you think the dangers of smoking whilst driving are sufficient to warrant a ban ?

Only if they are smoking.
One time I picked my dad up from the pub. Sitting at traffic lights a police car pull up next to us. He beeped the horn and said my dad had to put his seat belt on.

I said...it's because he's fat, the policeman just laughed and said fat or not, it's the law....so they do police it given the opportunity. I think nowadays we'd probably be fined for it.
I can't see how a ban would be Policed ?

We have lots of existing motoring laws, like wearing seat belts, not using hand held devices, not smoking in cars with young children and as far as I can see, these are widely ignored, speeding in built-up areas, etc.

So what would be the point of have another unenforceable law ?

I agree with everything you say Mikey but point out that all mentioned points are law breaking whilst driving & should be strictly enforced to save accidents & lives no matter how difficult.

Unless you drop your fag onto your crotch area - that happened to my friend many years ago and she never smoked in her car ever again
