For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.You know I don't think your funny in the least....when you used to come on in the middle of the 11 o'clock show I would make a cuppa and sit through the adverts....you even managed to make Daisy Donovan look good.....as for your supposition....balderdash...if the people who submitted to this forum felt in any way impotent outside then they would never have managed to accrue the obvious wealth of knowledge and experience that so many of the contributors have shown in their excellent answers in the past.
In "phrases and sayings" there is a question about a term for someone who tries to steal the show and make themself look good. I think we should have pity for such people, who are obviously themselves feeling impotence in some area of their life, so much so that they feel they must compensate by trying to belittle others, who are in fact no threat to them, but just happily getting on with their own lives. Just a general observation that I thought I would share altruistically. And in the words of one David Brent, "Eagles may soar high, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines"
