Grenfell Tower Fire: Government Staff Sent Into Kensington And Chelsea Council
Answers
'Well done Mrs May ???? Her initial response was more 'how can I save my ar*** ' than help! I agree she made amends later but nothing will prevent that initial impression being how she is remembered!

True enough, Hans - but the whole point of disaster planning is that you have a plan - it seems sadly obvious that at local/regional/national level that wasn't the case.
Given the ongoing terrorist emergencies, I would have expected that (even if Kensington was overwhelmed) then either at London or National level there would be some contingencies in place for an event of this magnitude.
I am seriously concerned about my second point though - some individuals and some organisation(s) are eventually going to be held responsible for this tragedy - it is imperative that history isn't being tampered with before an inquiry is even set up.

you can be sure that anything that might prove the culpability of anyone in officialdom will already be long gone – much in the way that incriminating documents were disappeared after the killing of David Wilkie.

in case people dont immediately click
Wilkie was killed when a concrete block was dropped on him
Hancock and Shankland convicted of murder later reduced to manslaughter
Kin Howells ( Dr - PhD) destroyed al the docs at NUM headquarters
but this doesnt have been thought in any way causative or contributory
https:/ /en.wik ipedia. org/wik i/Killi ng_of_D avid_Wi lkie
The parallel I would draw would be to the secretive police division infiltrating leftie organisations - and giving them babies on a part time basis - see Herne Report
http:// www.der byshire .police .uk/Doc uments/ About-U s/Herne /Operat ion-Her ne---Re port-1- --Cover t-Ident ities.p df
[conclusion - they made mistakes but only little ones ! hur hur hur]
and when the secretive division was disbanded ( for indiscipline) - it was SO secret that no records were retained - so no one would know what happened
Game over you might think - BUT retired secret policemen came forward and said that they were given orders to smash the hard drives. and that was so odd and counter intuitive - they didnt smash the drives but took them home instead
(happened to me in the NHS but the tidy NHS administrator WOULDN'T sign a document telling me to destroy documents but insisted his telephone instruction was sufficient)

For Funks Sake local counsils SHOULD have an emergency proceedure for many different scenarios. You have to give them a chance to actually do it before you can parachute a government team in. Which TM did when it became apparent the K&C council weren't coping.
I would really like to slap the people who keep harping on that she doesn't care because she doesn't go around weeping and wailing and hugging everyone in site. Get this... IT ISNT HER STYLE. By which I mean it isn't her nature to be demonstrative. That DOES NOT mean she doesn't care.

gness, //If Theresa May herself is saying that not enough was done to help the families of the victims I'm not sure why we should be saying....Well done, Mrs May....//
She acknowledges that insufficient was done initially, and she is now making a positive effort to address the failings of the local council which is actually a very good idea – but let’s keep putting the boot in, shall we?

lets keep on putting the boot in ?
well yeah - there ARE 70 deaths to explain
and completely avoidable
that is three times as many deaths from Manchester and London Bridge and my god you should hear the squawking over interning 20 000 and various measures known not to work
so No - NOT well done Mrs May
