Abergavenny

Went to Abergavenny market today. The A40 road was coned off down to one lane in both directions from Raglan right through to Abergavenny.
No sign of any work being down at all. On the journey home the cones were being taken up.
This happens quite often and it is really frustrating. Puts a damper on a nice day out.

A mate of mine went to Llandudno the weekend and he told me of a similar thing, added almost an hour on to his journey. On his return diversion signs and cones had disappeared ( maybe it's a Welsh thing ).

I live on a main road. Frequently temporary lights and cones suddenly appear. I have never yet seen any workmen, unless the elves come out at midnight and do all the work.

Seems to be popular in the summer ( holiday season ).

You should drive north or South at night on the M6 sometime. 17 miles of coned area and not a soul working.
