... chuffed today, despite being quite fit for my age (65) I have been a Type 2 Diabetic for last 7 years or so. Had a Clinic appointment earlier today, Blood Tests etc were done a week or so back.
Everything that was 'average' 6 months ago are now really low, including cholesterol.
I know you can't cure Diabetes but it's now at the point where I can just get on with things as long as I'm careful with Diet and Exercise.
Well pleased

I changed my diet, did daily indoor exercises and, whenever possible, walked everywhere instead of using public transport. Together with 4 Metformin per day, the weight began to fall away and the Metformin was reduced to 3, then 2, 1 and now, 0. I lost somewhere around 6 stone up until 2012 but have put about 2/3 of that back on. However, my cholesterol, blood pressure, blood sugar, etc are all 'bob on' and have been for my last 4 'tests' over a 2 year period. I am still classed as a diabetic - but take nothing for it - which is good as it affords me the annual eye test. Keep up with the sensible diet and exercise.
