Reading Messalina's post about Kompo reminded me of our family cure all medecine.....
Guinness mixed with milk and sugar to a froth....to make us grow....well that didn't work....
Malt and cod liver oil........stuck to the roof of your mouth....

But the one I hated was Brooklax.....my mum made us eat a square once a day.....I would go into the dining room....climb on the windowsill and spit it out of the top window.....
Until the day the wind caught it and mum came in to see the sticky chocolatey mess sliding down the outside of the window...... :-(

I've not tried that, Ducksie.....I think it's the same as Dulse perhaps....that you get in Mayo a lot....good fibre content but don't know much else about it....
Must admit I do like seaweed....x
Yes,it has many different spellings depending on the region, as far as Scotland they use it, dilsk or how ever you spend it is sold like pack of crisps in some seaside towns, from mobile food vendors for a small price, they crisp it some way, make it really tasty and wooohooo it's gorgeous and sells before noon, except by me, I don't like it - even if they put chilli sauce on it, it is popular and medicinal to some

I fancy giving that a try, Ducksie.....I'll find some and crisp it up......x
