Opening bank account

Hello, I'm going to open a new current and savings account at Nationwide tomorrow.
What documents/ID do I need ?
All I was going to take is a passport and a council tax bill, is that enough ?

Hi pjm007 - I think you should be OK with a passport and council tax bill. Not 100 per cent certain about the council tax bill though, they may want to see a recent utility bill not over 3 months old.

They have to confirm you are who you say you are, and you live where you say you live.

To be absolutely certain, ring their 24 hour (British) call centre now on 08457 30 20 10

Further to the answer by compman a Council Tax Bill is acceptable as Proof of Address provided it is less than 12 months old.
