It may wwell have a clause requiring you to give reasons for absence.ostensibly this is to assist them to help you back to work. Generally for absences of less than seven days a sick note is not required, self certification being the tem used, but you often have to give more detail than "I was Sick". If you really dont want to tell them, then you should look to why you dont. Were you ill? Couldnt you tell them what you had. beleive me, when you start describing food poisoning sympt9ms to them they often dont go any furhter.
if yoy REALLY can't face telling your boss, say you want to tell occy health. The nurse or doctor can confirm sickness to your boss but will keep the reason private.....as should your boss if you tell them that that is your wish...sympathy Inci, I am having severe private summers with dizzy spells at the moment(its my age and the patches only made things worse)...thought about dissembling but decided blow it, its nothing to be ashamed of. My husband who manages a mixed gender work force says that he would rather hear the truth as if you need more time off later or it gets more serious then you would have to be honest then.
