Every time I open Google Chrome on my Samsung galaxy J5 I'm getting an advert from sylvanwins.cricket telling me that they'll give me an iphone 7 if I answer a few questions. I don't believe a word of it, but I can't get rid of the wretched thing except by restarting the phone. This is having a knock-on effect with some of its other functions. I don't want to click on OK, in case that sets something nasty in motion, but I need it to disappear. What should I do?

Chrome on Android always starts with the page you were viewing when you closed it, so open Chrome, tap the number at top right that shows the number of open tabs, click the tap the x to close the page before closing Chrome

Install adblock plus on your phone , I have it on my Galaxy no problems with adverts.
Hope Chris or someone techie sees this, it sounds more like some malware or something, any ordinary ad you'd be able to get rid of.

Thank you everyone, will follow all advice. Particular thanks to TheChair - this has happened before and I'd no idea what to do. Will print it out and put it where I can see it ready for next time!
