Independance Day, How Exactly Are The Native Indians Involved In This Glorious Day For "all Americans?"

I'm intrigued that this is one of the most biggest days in the U.S yet i never see a native indian celebrating the 241 years of independance.

Why is this?

The separation from England probably didn't produce any benefits for them, so they don't see any reason to celebrate.

When there was a Silver Jubilee here in the UK I wasn't churlish and joined in the street party even though I have no interest in the outdated royalty thing. Wasn't there a golden one recently too ? I popped out and showed my face for about 20 minutes then.

I'd have though commiserating with the Yanks over losing their connection with the UK was a good excuse for a booze up.

Native Americans are Americans so I guess like all other Americans, they join in the festivities if they want to.

Generally independence happens to colonies that achieve the own state by force or negotiation from other established countries. The US achieved independence from Britain, Spain, France etc and are thus a new nation. I imagine the indigenous population consider themselves the original incumbents before colonisation and as such have not achieved independence. They in essence live under occupation albeit for the most part tolerable.

The history of the Native Americans is sad, but realistically they will never gain ‘independence’. Time has moved on and the rest of the American people are hardly likely to up sticks and move elsewhere. America is what it is. It’s not going to change.

Down to a lack of acceptance of reality then, and thus a desire to be apart and not integrate with the majority of existing occupants. That causes long term problems; unhealed sores generation after generation.
