Argos Being Awkward About My Probs With Tv
21 Answers
My 50''HD Bush TV is not working.
I had a local (friend) tv engineer looked at it today, who said it could be the software, or another fault, or knackered, but it would need to go to a workshop.
Its about 2 years old, so when I just spoke to Argos Direst, they said as its out of guarantee, they cant do anything, but when I mentioned the EU law.......From the Guardian#
#The Sale of Goods Act offers protection against faulty goods even when the manufacturer's guarantee has run out. The act says goods must last a reasonable time - and that can be anything up to six years from the date of purchase. ##
He said I would have to have a letter from the tv engineer who looked at it, and it will be passed on to Bush etc.
This of course is going to take days, maybe more, which means I wont have a tv to watch.
Is there anything else I can do, by law to get a better speedier answer?
I can watch tv on my laptop, but prefer a TV.
