2nd attempt at 'off to dreamland'.

Can someone please please tell me how not to constantly dream at night, so that I wake up exhausted. I'm always so busy in them, dashing here and there, looking for this or that. I often have a dream about being in a lift that travels sideways, not up and down, what does that mean?? Lots of nightmares too. Thanx in advance.

You will dream regardless but at least they might not disturb you then.
Also, if you're rushing around a lot during the day, your dreams might be reflecting that so maybe you could take some time in the day to relax if that's what's happening.
Dreaming about going up and down, falling etc... is usually to do with your blood pressure dropping when you fall asleep or something but I'm not sur what sideways is. Perhaps a feeling of always moving but not gettng anywhere?

Try and clear your brain of any stimulation for the hour before you get into bed, i.e. no watching TV in bed or for an hour before you go. Also, no reading of heavy thrillers before switching off the bedside lamp !
Spend a few minutes lying flat on the floor trying to let your body and mind totally relax, and do a few gentle stretching exercises. If you get into bed with tense muscles that will reflect on your nervous system and your body and brain will be less likely to relax and sink into uncomplicated unconsciousness.
