I'm on a three month course to try and get Hidradenitis Suppurativa to settle down. Been on them about a week and a half now.

I take it last thing at night so it's not taken at the same time as my vitamin tablets and 40mg Omeprazole in the morning as read they can't be taken at the same time.

The last few days I've been getting horrible nausea and reflux and feeling headachey, it seems to start late afternoon. Is this likely to be related and, if so, is it likely to settle or likely to continue for the whole three month course? I've taken a Stemetil tablet to see if that helps settle it down tonight. Thanks for any help.

Both of those are listed as possible side effects, why it should kick in after so many hours I have no clue.

If no improvement check with surgery or pharmacist when you can Eve,

Hi Mamya, thank you for answering. That was making me wonder, why side effects, if that is what they are, are kicking in so long after I take the tablet at night. I go to bed pretty early too, though last night was a little bit later after the Murray match but still not late late.

I will do, thank you.
I wish you well Eve, you have so much to contend with.x
My son has simolar & had same meds. Tums ease him.

You also seem to be mentioning known side effects of omeprazole too though. It could be that the side effects of that drug are now only kicking in because of the presence of the newer one in your body. (i.e. it might be possible that switching to a different proton pump inhibitor in the morning, rather than switching the lymecycline for something else, might be what's required to get rid of the side effects of the combination of the two).

Try stopping the omeprazole for a few days (while keeping some Gaviscon handy to deal with any short-term problems that might leave you with). If your symptoms disappear you'll know that you need to try a different proton pump inhibitor in the mornings. If they remain you'll know for sure that they're related to the lymecycline.

Thanks Mamya x Thanks for that Tamborine, will give those a try.

I hope that the meds helped your son.

That's interesting Chris, thanks. I've been on Omeprazole for many many years. I can give it a go, will definitely need to stock up on the Gaviscon though. I took the wrong pill box box of meds when I was stupidly tired the other week and had an awful day of acid after missing the Omeprazole.
Nausea and reflux, may or may not be related to your medication.......
Take your medication last thing at night (as you are doing) but with a large glass of milk and monitor the situation for another few days.

Thanks Sqad, would soya milk work ok? I use Soya Milk light.

I haven't had real milk for a long while. I actually have a "phobia", if that is the right word, of a glass of milk. The thought of it just turns my stomach, can't watch other people drinking it either! Was fine with it on cereal and in drinks but just milk...nooooo! :)

I went on a date once with a guy to a coffee shop, he ordered a glass of milk...we didn't meet again... ;)
LOL...Eve. OK soya milk or water.......or even have a sandwich with your tablet last thing at night.
