Leg Cramps
12 Answers
What can I take to alleviate this. I'm not sleeping well with the heat, tossing and turning, sleeping for about half an hour at a time. Also getting horrendous leg cramps most of the night. I have to keep leaping out of bed to press my legs on the floor very hard.
The pain is awful and I can still feel it during the day.
Has anyone any suggestions what I could take?

This crucial mineral...
Loosens muscles by blocking the effect of calcium, which tightens muscles. As people age, excess calcium collects in the muscles, causing cramps. (Also, beware that calcium supplements, especially with Vitamin D, can cause calcium overload!)
Increases the absorption of potassium, which is critical for proper muscle function.
Decreases pain by blocking pain receptors in the brain and nervous system.
Dampens inflammation in the muscles and the entire body.
Relaxes blood vessels and decreases blood pressure, which restores healthy circulation.
Increases your serotonin, GABA and melatonin, which helps you relax and fall asleep. //

Another vote for magnesium...try it as a topical spray and apply when you get a cramp. Also pink Himalayan salt...a bit under the tongue stops cramps in their tracks for me.
