Dyeing Clothes

Unfortunately, I splashed some bleach on a dress I've got (which I love and don't want to throw out!) - if I dye the whole dress, will the bleach mark get covered and disappear? Thanks.

I'm thinking that the original colour will affect the final outcome, which will be different where the original colour was bleached out.
One way to find out though. Or maybe bleach the whole dress ?
