Attendance Allowance Affected By Respite
3 Answers
I have been told that if my mother receives any further respite she will lose her attendance allowance. Is this true and, if so, how much respite is she allowed before it is affected? She currently receives one week in five

She initially had two weeks every five but she choose to reduce it to one week a couple of years ago. They have told me we can self fund another week if we like (she currently makes £132 per week contribution) and the cost of the self funded week is £490. Her dementia is worsening and I think more would help her and enable me to continue to work.
