London Hotels

My sister and I are taking our mum to London for a 2 day (1 night) stay for her birthday in August. We have booked theatre tickets and I am looking to book a nice hotel (4 * ish) not too far from the West End. Can anybody recommend either a hotel or any good websites to search. Thank you.

I've always managed with www.lastminute.co.uk and have had 3* & 4* from as low as �29-�49 per night. No doubt someone else will soon be recommending somewhere else! :)

I had a trawl round the internet last year, sorry can't remember any sites, but ended up getting a good deal on The Strand Palace Hotel.

I second Lastminute.com, we used them for our london Hotel a couple of months ago, and there's loads of good deals.
If you're feeling adventurous you could even try their 'Top Secret' hotels, they tell you the approximate area and the star rating, but not the name. But they give you really great deals for taking the risk. I didn't try it this time, but I will definately next time.
We stayed in the Hyde Park Corus, we went to a show, but we did have to take the tube to get to the West End. But I'm sure you'll find lots actually in the area you want.
