...but I don't know what it is. I have a USB sandisk which I use to store pictures & load them onto this from my laptop.
The problem I've got is this. As soon as I put it into the USB port it starts importing them into my Google photos & don't want this to happen. How can I stop this from happening please

There *should* be an option when you plug it in asking what you want to do. If not, there should be an option to disable automatic syncing. This might help (under "A note about using both applications):

Thank you Jim. It doesn't come up with any options when I plug it in, it just starts transferring the pictures straightaway from the sandisk to Google photos
