I have done something very silly, I have put a video into the video recorder the wrong way , and i cannot get it out, Any ideas, Or will i have to take it for repair Many thanks
Blimey, I didn't think that was possible! Try turning it upside-down and pressing the eject button, or if that doesn't work, disconnect it from the mains, open it up, and see if you can extract it manually.
hi you should be able to remove the tape by yourself as long as you can get access to the insides of the player ! firstly disconnect the player from the electric supply...remove the plug dont just switch it off...... then you should find screws on the sides of the player usually four, undo these and you should then be able to remove the outer cover of the player. Taking care not to damage any of the circuitry or wiring inside you should then be able to free the tape and push it back out the way it came !! then put the cover back on and replace screws and turn back on. Good Luck !
Keep in mind that taking out the screws may void your warranty if there is one. I would try putting your hand in the front where you put the tape and assist it up while pushing the eject. Dont worry there are no electrical parts close enough to the ejection port to hurt you.
My 3 year old granddaughter did exactly the same on one of our VCR's. I did exactly the same as plato suggests and with a little gentle persuasion I was able to get it out, and the recorder still works perfect.
As plato says remember and remove the plug and do not touch the circuitry boards.
We could not open the vcr to remove the tape, maybe because it is the new Sony Smart start that makes it more difficult,
And we didn't want to do any damage as it is still under warranty, so we took it for repair.
But thanks a bunch for your help,
I dont know what i would do without this answer bank
