Motorway Service area prices that includes Fuel, Food? I've covered many routes in my driving days, but the way the prices were going that soon stopped, are the public aware of Garages just off each & every Motorway? if you took this route instead of Motorway fill up's their prices would soon fall, I understand they have to ship in Food etc, but I think they are taking the Izz out of the public.

I'm sure that was a joke Ummmm
Ummmm it was supposed to be a joke !
They may be full of trippers in the middle of the day but the majority are 24 hrs and you don't see them busy at 1am but you still expect the facilities. I'm sure the overheads are high.
And Eddie that had to be a mistake unless it was a lobster sandwich.
Yes I drive long distances and find myself using the sevices either to top up or to buy a coffee of something to eat.
Why shouldn't I?
Why would I 'research' my journey and take a detour to buy a cup of coffee or something to eat!!
I actually enjoy stopping off at some services there are some lovely ones out there!
If you don't want to pay the prices don't stop - simples!
Oh--well you never know
lol Eddie !

Actually, I am going to speak up for one Services :::

Gloucester Services, with its Farm Shop.
Oh...a joke.
The answer is simple - most cars nowadays will hold enough fuel and are efficient enough, that if you fill up before you leave, you won't need to re-fill part way through your journey.
If, like me, you begrudge paying the over-inflated prices (irrespective of whether they're justified or not), then simply use the service stations for the toilets and nothing else.
If I'm going somewhere that will involve me driving for more than an hour or so, I'll usually make sure I have drinks in the car and have something to eat before I set off and possibly still have a snack in the car, just in case I get peckish.
No one is forcing you to pay these prices; so either plan ahead, or pay up ..... simple :)
I use their other services but never buy fuel from them. I always fill up before setting off on any long journey.

I do a lot of motorway driving, & find this book invaluable.
