Sorry,I can't help you there, but if your telephone/internet was supplied by blueyonder, for a pound a month you could actually receive short phone calls whilst surfing the net.
You don't need Blueyonder for that - BT do it too. Dial 1571 to set it up. Then, when you come off the net (or home from work or whatever) dial 1571 and if anyone's left a message (even if it was engaged from being on the 'phone or the internet) you can listen to it and delete it or save it. It's all free and has been around years. Not sure why more people don't use it.
indiesinger, what you suggest is different to Shirlz isn't it? BT's is just voicemail what Shirlz apperas to be suggesting is that you can recieve an actual call while connected to the internet with Telewest Blueyonder.
I used to have software which enabled me to take calls over the internet. The call would activate a ring tone via the software and I could take the call using my micrphone and speakers. This was when I was with BT on a dial up connection and I did have to get BT to enable some service on the line. Can't really remember much else because it was a few years ago but it is possible. As I recall I could also use the service to call someone else.
