I have an interview tomorrow and although I am currently employed it is a zero hour contract and I have had several months off due to a knee injury. Now I am fit for work they have told me they have no hours for me I am unsure how to reply if they ask me why I am leaving my current job.

How about the truth - you are on a zero hours contract and much as you like the job, you are looking for more secure and reliable employment.

Just tell them the truth, I think the interviewers will understand you, cuz you have done nothing inappropriate.
