Which One...i Can't Make Up My Mind
34 Answers
As a Birthday treat to myself, I've decided to get a new comfy chair. The one I have is a compact tub...and it's lost its sqooosh, and is not nice for telly watching. It replaced an old, worn, but comfy wingchair.
I've chosen 2 from ikea...
1)...my first choice, the Stocksund. Overstuffed, and sized generously. But maybe TOO generous:-( Has slipcovers...which had been one of my criteria )
Also a bit pricey...in fact as of yesterday it had increased by 10% and costs almost 2x my second choice. :-(

2)...my second choice, the Strandmon. A wingchair that is a bit mid-century retro. No slipcovers but found a supplier on eBay. Costs almost 1/2 the price of the Stocksund...is more compact. But I'm still not *sure*.

Both have very good reviews regarding comfort and durability...and I've read LOADS of reviews!
The other seating is an IKEA Ektorp 3 seater sofa...classic shabby chic, squishy, slip covered. Currently covered in white ( +many throws ), but I've just acquired a sort of medium dove grey cover.

Oh dear...I'm cracking up here. You lot do make me laugh...;-))
I've been to some local shops...nothing,nada. Either uglyboring, or way too expensive. And with both a dog and cat, I don't want anything too precious.
I don't drive so a 2 hour trip to IKEA is not on the cards...damn! Wish it was possible. That's why I rely on real people reviews. I did when I got the sofa, so I already knew what possible drawbacks there might be.
I'm still leaning towards the Stocksund...it looks deep and enveloping. I agree with others that the Strandmon has the air of an out of date care home about it. That's what's holding me back. I'm so shallow...looks come first.
Either chair will give more neck support than my current one...can't tell you how many times I tilted my neck back into thin air when I first got it.
