....and so it begins, if they start bashing nations with A7, how long before the whole sorry edifice comes crashing down.
This is just mischief making by ultra-nationalists.
Poland was raped and pillaged at least as much by the Soviet Union in WWII.
Not sure what this has to do with the rather naive attempt by a clothing company to reclaim the swastika.
What's the betting that if the EU pyramid scheme decides to bribe Poland into hushing up, that Britain will be paying. As part of a fair "divorce" bill donncha know?
I think this is more likely to be laughed at than hushed up
Of course it is a "laughing" matter.................except for the Poles.
It's hardly a secret that Poland suffered at the hands of Nazi Germany, but Germany, unlike Russia, has come to terms with and acknowledged its part in the destruction of Poland. Russia, on the other hand, never has: trying to pin everything on the Germans purely for contemporary political gain is woefully transparent: and laughable .
Poland didnt forget the sacrifices their people made to fight for King George - not churchill who betrayed them full time at Yalta

The mortality of the Polish population 1939-45 was 25% ( 250 per thousand) - and this was mainly due to the Nazis

They havent forgotten - we have
You're right Peter, just lob a few 'those plucky Poles' into any convo on the subject then move on to matters altogether more modern.
Peter
Poland was carved up between Hitler and Stalin, who delayed his re-invasion at the end to allow the former to mop up as many of the survivng Jews as he could. So the two were never absolutely mutually incompatible :-)
As for "Poland hasn't forgot (sic)" of course they haven't. You're right to say that they remember rather better than we do, which is hardly surprising. But the constructive thing to do is to move on, while still remembering the past. This particular episide is everything to do with politics, as I suggested earlier and nothing to do with justice.
