What are they called and can you buy them in the UK?

They are usually white.

They can be opened fully like roller blinds, or closed at a tilt to allow air and light in, or fully closed.

They are operated by pulling a tape set into the wall.

I know what you mean. We used to have them in Germany. No idea where you might get them but im watching this one. Great for security too.

Hi Ethel they are called persianas here in Spain Spanish word for blind but dont know where u would purchase them in England
