Please tell him not to go for anything even remotely quirky. It will get less and less funny every time he see it, believe me!

A good trick is to go for something which will appear at the top or very nearly of alphabetical searches, e.g. "Associated Pool Maintenance" or somesuch.

Good point, Dave. It's like those hairdressers called Curl up and Dye, or Hair Apparent etc which become more groanworthy each time you see them. I think he should choose something memorable but professional-sounding.

funny names are just to attract the attention of people who haven't heard of them before. Once they've inquired, it's up to the staff to make sure they're happy. Whether they stay or never return, it doesn'' matter if they continue to find the name funny or not. So yes, go for something eye-catching. Pool Resources maybe? (Or, to get first in the list, Aardvark's Pool Resources.)

I agree Dave, seriously he should choose sometning professional and mature sounding. If I had a pool ..... in my dreams .... I would be most likely to approach a company that sounded traditional. Use the surname, place name or the region, and keep it simple. Check carefully that there isn't something similar already. For example Northern Pool Services couldnt sound more reliable!
