I have been a member since 2004 and this site has provided many an insight to me over the years but recently, especially due to the new format that directs focus to only specific areas of the site and the tendency to include political bias into technical answers, I don't feel this site is the one for me any more.

You are being somewhat harsh Baldric, some treat ABers as part of a family and like to keep their fellow ABers informed, just like when we rallied round inquiring how your dear wife was after her unfortunate accident.

Hope she is still on the road to recovery by the way?

G'afternoon ll_billym........You have done right to announce that you are saying goodbye; even if there are some ABers who think otherwise. I feel sure that if you were a guest in someone's home you would be looked upon as rude if you left without saying you were leaving.

Accordingly, I say you should ignore the minority of ABers who are suggesting that you are flouncing or suchlike and, most important. refrain from deactivating your membership of Answerbank. Have a rest by all means, and retaining membership will enable you to return to AB whenever you wish.

At present there is a lot which can be criticised in certain sections but, if you are having technical problems, there are a number of first class bods in the Technical section.
