Eating Cold Cooked Rice

After cooking rice for a dish for the evening I'm presuming I can let the rice cool down thouroughly, bung it in the fridge and it will be alright to eat the next day cold?
There is a reason why I want to do this but I won't bore you with it

However, it let it cool down, put it into airtight boxes and lobbed them in the fridge. I went cycling today (38 miles) and stopped to eat cold rice for lunch (1pm) No immediate reaction and now its 6.30pm and I'm still alive!
